Job Title: Assistant Merchandiser

West Ham United Football Club is one of the most historic and passionately supported football clubs in the UK. With a rapidly growing fan base and an expanding global reach, our retail division is key in offering supporters a seamless and inspiring shopping experience—both in-store and online.

We are now looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Merchandiser to support our team in delivering the right product, at the right time, in the right quantities to meet fan demand and drive commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Stock Management

• Monitor and manage stock replenishment to retail locations.

• Support the Merchandiser in conducting regular stock reviews and future stock planning.

• Assist in updating and maintaining the range plan in collaboration with the Buying team.

• Provide analytical support for WSSI management and ensure all associated documents are up to date.

Sales Analysis

• Prepare and update the weekly trade pack and its supporting documentation.

• Own and manage daily sales reporting to support trade performance analysis.

• Assist in end-of-season/event reviews to inform future strategy.

• Deliver insights on omnichannel performance, including store-level and online sales analysis.

Forecasting Support

• Oversee stock flow for core lines to support the Never Out of Stock (NOOS) strategy.

• Conduct historical sales analysis to guide future buying decisions at style and size levels.

Product Lifecycle Management

• Maintain accurate product classification (e.g., pricing, seasonality, status).

• Provide data-driven insights to support promotional and markdown strategies.

Product Launch Execution

• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure the timely and accurate launch of new product ranges.

• Align stock allocations with the range plan across relevant sales channels.

• Support post-launch analysis to evaluate range performance and inform ongoing trade decisions.

Intake Management

• Track and manage the delivery schedule, flagging any potential risk to sales due to late deliveries.

• Partner with Buying to ensure consistency and accuracy across intake reporting tools.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience within a buying and merchandising team, with a solid understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs.)

• Strong numerical and analytical abilities, coupled with a commercially focused mindset.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel , with foundational knowledge of dashboards and reporting tools such as Power BI.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
