React Native Engineer | Freelance
- Location: London (Hybrid, 2–3 days/week in office - (Located in East India Doc)

We’re looking for a freelance React Native Engineer, with circa 5 years experience, to help build a brand new product for a client in the telecommunications industry. You will be part of a self - organising and cross functional Agile team, c reating extremely well - crafted mobile app, supporting web and payment integration .
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and build robust, scalable React Native mobile apps using TypeScript and Expo (managed + ore-build workflows)
- Integrate with REST APIs and potentially GraphQL
- Implement local storage strategies (e.g., Zustand, MMKV) with offline-first logic and background syncing
- Debug native crashes & understand how to troubleshoot native modules using Xcode/Android Studio
- (Ideally) Integrate secure payment solutions and handle payment workflows (credit card, debit card, third-party providers)
- Work collaboratively with backend teams to implement sync logic, authentication, and secure data flows
- Contribute to scalable project architecture, reusable components, atomic design, and efficient CI/CD workflows (Expo EAS, CircleCI, etc.)
- Collaborate closely with other engineers, designers and stakeholders in a co-located team environment
- Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing
Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of professional front-end experience, with at least 3+ years of React Native
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript & TypeScript
- Ability to debug and work with native modules (Swift/Kotlin) even if not a native mobile dev
- Experience structuring production-grade React Native apps (atomic design, scalable routing, Expo Router)
- Familiar with local storage management and offline-first approaches
- Comfortable troubleshooting 3rd-party SDKs & forking open-source packages when needed
- Good understanding of mobile build pipelines (EAS, CircleCI, Xcode, Android Studio)
- Ability to demonstrate end-to-end delivery — from MVP to production
- Excellent communication & problem-solving skills
Desirable:
- Prior payment provider integration (Stripe, Adyen, or similar) in a mobile app
- Experience with GraphQL
- Familiarity with telco / eSIM products
