Quant Capital is urgently looking for an Cobol Developer to join our high profile client.

Our client is a well-known a global financial technology firm which specialises in the design and development of software in the Asset Management Industry.

The successful Cobol Developer will be serving some of the biggest name clients in the financial sector, therefore commitment and attention to detail is essential. There will be opportunities for client site visits and client engagement, hence excellent communication skills are necessary. They will have good problem-solving skills and will work in a team environment, on a wide variety of business & technical issues.

Day to Day the Cobol Developer will:

• Software Development
• Review and analysis of client specifications
• Estimation and production of development proposals
• Building new software in line with client specifications
• Performing solution testing to ensure system integrity
• Servicing defect management activities
• Working within a Scrum team

The role requires the candidate to work independently, and is collaborative in nature. The candidate should be adept at problem solving through innovation, and have a proven track record on successfully overseeing a number of projects of differing scales. These could be personal or in business.

Analyst Developers must have:

• A minimum of 6 months experience of COBOL
• Good knowledge of COBOL with `embedded SQL coding
• Education to degree level
• Experience of COBOL.NET
• Experience of VB.NET,
• .NET Experience of using GitLab
• Any experience of IBMi
• Experience of SQL Server
• Experience of Open technologies
• Exposure to Agile methodologies

This role suits someone from a software Development or implementation background that is looking to take on serious responsibility. We are looking for consultants who want to take ownership of products and take considerable responsibility and the bonus that goes with that.
