Head of Operations
Play a key role in shaping the future of one of London’s most ambitious regeneration projects.
Olympia is undergoing a landmark £1.3bn transformation into London’s newest destination for culture, entertainment, innovation and business. Designed by Heatherwick Studio and SPPARC for Yoo Capital and DFI, the revitalised 14-acre estate will bring together world-class venues, creative workspaces, premium hospitality, and experiential retail.
Set to open in phases from late 2025, the estate will include:
- Five new events and conferencing venues with a capacity of 20,000
- A 1,575-seat theatre (the largest new-build in London in nearly 50 years)
- A 4,000-capacity live music hall
- 30+ restaurants and eateries, including Incipio and D3 Collective
- Two hotels from citizenM and Hyatt Regency
- A boutique gym by 1Rebel and a new senior school from Wetherby Pembridge
- 550,000 sq ft of offices with exceptional design and rooftop terraces
The Role
As Head of Operations, you’ll be responsible for the seamless delivery of soft services across the Olympia estate – including cleaning, security, waste management, landscaping and pest control. Reporting to the Estate Director, this role is pivotal in ensuring a high-quality, safe, and customer-focused environment for occupiers, visitors, and stakeholders.
You’ll lead the management and performance of high-value, complex soft service contracts across a multi-site estate, coordinate incident response, drive continuous improvement, and support estate-wide compliance. This is a highly visible position that requires hands-on leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and strong communication with service partners and occupiers alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operational delivery of soft services in line with agreed SLAs and quality standards
- Conduct regular site inspections and work with suppliers to proactively address issues
- Collaborate with the wider Olympia Estate Services (OES) team to support smooth operations and strong service culture
- Support reporting, finance tracking, and budget management relating to service charge delivery
- Uphold health, safety and environmental standards in collaboration with relevant leads
- Build strong relationships with occupiers, stakeholders and internal teams
- Promote innovation and service improvements across all touchpoints of the estate experience
About You
We’re looking for a confident operational leader with experience managing soft services across complex, high-profile and multi-site environments . You will bring:
- A background in estate or facilities management, with exposure to mixed-use developments or public realm settings
- Strong contract and supplier management skills, with an eye for service quality and commercial value
- A proactive and collaborative leadership style with excellent communication skills
- Working knowledge of UK Health & Safety compliance and environmental standards
- Financial awareness and experience supporting operational budgets
- Relevant qualifications such as IOSH and/or SIA licence (desirable)
This is a site-based role working 5 out of 7 days, with flexibility required. On-call responsibilities are shared across the team.
