Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Charted Electrical Engineer to join the Major Projects & Connections team as a Technical Manager. The purpose of the role is to support the Technical management team by working alongside our Operational teams.

Our project teams deliver HV infrastructure solutions to a wide range of clients requiring new or upgraded electrical infrastructure. We have key projects within DNO and TO footprints nationwide that range from renewable developers to large industry commercial estates that have significant power demands. Our project teams deliver a wide range of design and build services including new connections, existing connection upgrades, cable systems, overhead lines, substations, battery storage integration, EV charging and PV generation. We have a strong track record for award-winning engineering innovation. We are looking to grow our team, client base and business turnover in the next few years.

Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:

• Ensuring the business delivers strong health and safety performance and compliance
• Support the growth of Freedom’s Major Projects & Connections businesses
• Developing key policies and processes to align to the changing requirements of the business as well as driving performance
• Building upon our strong reputation for delivery
• Providing expert technical leadership, management and support to our external consultants, internal design teams and our clients
• Ensuring Compliance with relevant Industry standards, NERS and DNO requirements.
• Ensuring compliance of adoptable network installations.
• Leading on the technical aspects of key bids and support contract negotiations
• Providing high level delivery and Project Technical Manager role to key clients/projects during the Pre-Contract Services stage of works
• Influencing a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and clients
• Supporting, maintaining and improving relationships with existing clients

What we’re looking for :

• Highly experienced in managing the delivery of client services covering a range of HV projects.
• Expertise centred around HV electrical design and commissioning
• Experience and knowledge of working within our key client sector markets
• Good commercial and business development skills
• Demonstrable experience in a leadership position with strong people management skills
• Member of a relevant professional body covering electrical engineering
