Planning Manager

Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading principal contractor to recruit a Planning Manager on a 12 month minimum contract for its North London site.

The Planning Manager role comes with a day rate of 450.00 per day.

Key skills

• Lead the planning and scheduling function for the project, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements and project objectives.
• Develop, manage, and control the master project schedule using Primavera P6 (or equivalent software).
• Provide strategic planning oversight, identifying risks, mitigation strategies, and opportunities for schedule improvement.
• Work closely with the Project Director, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction teams to ensure efficient coordination.
• Lead the progress reporting, forecasting, and performance analysis, providing clear insights to senior management and stakeholders.
• Manage and mentor a team of Planning Engineers, ensuring best practices in project controls.
• Ensure integration of subcontractor schedules into the overall project plan.
• Support the claims and variation process, offering detailed planning data and impact analysis.
• Conduct critical path analysis and proactively manage potential delays.
• Ensure full compliance with industry regulations, company procedures, and contract obligations (e.g., NEC, FIDIC).
• Must have extensive experience as a Planning Manager / Senior Planning Engineer with a principal contractor in a construction environment.
