SEND Teaching Assistant Location: Barking & Dagenham Position: SEND Teaching Assistant Employment Type: Full Time Start Date: ASAP Salary: Competitive, based on experience About Us: Would you like to work in an Outstanding primary school Are you committed to excellence for children We are looking for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to work alongside a supportive staff team in a Barking & Dagenham Primary School. You would be working in an intervention class, working with groups and individual children. All the children have a diagnosis of autism. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have bags of resilience and some sensory experience to plan activities. Key Responsibilities: Support SEN children on a 1:1 or small group basis. Understanding of Autism and challenging behaviour Have experience in planning sensory based activities Have good literacy and numeracy skills. Encourage social, emotional, and cognitive development. Requirements: Qualifications: Level 3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent. Experience: Previous experience working with ASD/SEMH pupils Knowledge: Good understanding of behaviour management Desirable: Experience working with children with SEN in a school/ provision.
