Contract Type: Full-Time / Term-Time

Salary: £18,000–£21,000 per annum (depending on experience)
We are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, and skilled EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our thriving early years team in North London . This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who are committed to supporting children aged 3–5 in their early development , fostering curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality early years education , supporting children in all areas of the EYFS curriculum, and ensuring a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment .

Role Overview
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the EYFS lead teacher to support children’s learning and development. You will be responsible for preparing resources, supporting structured and unstructured activities, and assisting children with learning and personal care .
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting small group and one-to-one learning activities
Encouraging children’s communication, social interaction, and confidence
Assisting with play-based and structured learning experiences
Supporting children with SEND, EAL, or additional needs
Supervising children during indoor and outdoor activities
Observing and recording children’s progress, feeding back to the teacher
Assisting with mealtime supervision, personal care, and hygiene routines
Ensuring a safe, calm, and organised learning environment
Key Responsibilities
Classroom Support:
Prepare and maintain resources for all areas of the EYFS curriculum
Support teacher-led lessons in literacy, numeracy, phonics, creative play, and PSED
Encourage children to explore and engage with learning materials independently
Individualised Support:
Work with children with SEN or developmental delays , providing tailored support
Support EAL learners in understanding instructions and expressing themselves
Assist children in developing confidence, independence, and self-regulation
Observation and Assessment:
Observe and record learning progress, behaviour, and wellbeing
Contribute to assessments, reports, and parent feedback
Identify areas where children may need additional support and liaise with the EYFS lead
Safeguarding and Wellbeing:
Maintain a safe and nurturing environment for all children
Follow safeguarding policies and procedures
Support children in regulating emotions and resolving conflicts positively
Teamwork and Communication:
Work collaboratively with EYFS staff, school leadership, and support staff
Build positive relationships with parents and carers, communicating effectively about children’s progress and needs
Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will:
Have experience in an EYFS or Early Years setting , ideally supporting children aged 3–5
Be enthusiastic, patient, and nurturing, with a genuine love for working with children
Have a basic understanding of child development and EYFS learning outcomes
Be confident in supporting children with SEN, EAL, or additional learning needs
Have excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills
Hold or be willing to obtain relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ, or EYFS training
