Teaching Assistant

TimePlan Education
London

Are you passionate about supporting children with SEND to achieve their full potential? A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Sutton is seeking a dedicated, full-time Teaching Assistant to join their team and provide support for pupils with ASD and ADHD.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the SEND team to support pupils both in and out of the classroom. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASD and ADHD.
  • Assisting in the delivery of engaging and differentiated learning activities.
  • Supporting pupils with their social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Implementing strategies and interventions recommended through EHCPs and SEND support plans.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils develop confidence and independence.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents to support progress and wellbeing.
  • Working collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure pupils receive the best possible support.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience working within a primary school or educational setting.
  • Experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD, or other additional learning needs.
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to build trusting relationships with children and support their individual needs.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as CACHE Level 2 or 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning, are desirable but not essential.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

What We Offer

  • A full-time, long-term position within a supportive Sutton primary school.
  • A welcoming and collaborative staff team.
  • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with SEND.
  • A rewarding role within a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

If you are passionate about supporting children with ASD and ADHD and are looking for a rewarding opportunity within a supportive school community, we would love to hear from you.
