The successful candidate will teach RE across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, creating lessons that encourage students to engage with challenging questions and develop their own well-reasoned conclusions.
At KS3, you will introduce pupils to a broad range of religious traditions, beliefs and practices, while developing their understanding of ethics and philosophical questions. At KS4, you will teach the relevant GCSE content and prepare students for examinations through structured writing, source analysis and evaluation.
Discussion will be an important part of the role. You should be confident managing a classroom where students are encouraged to express different viewpoints respectfully while ensuring that lessons remain focused and academically rigorous.

Religious Education Teacher - Experience and Qualifications
Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy or related Degree
QTS or recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching RE at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4
GCSE Religious Studies experience
Strong knowledge of religious and ethical issues
Confident leading classroom discussion
Excellent written communication
Effective behaviour management
Strong planning and assessment skills
Ability to support students of different abilities
Salary
The salary for this Religious Education Teacher position will be paid to scale on MPS/UPS, depending on experience and qualifications.
