Part Time Nanny

Mayfair Nannies
South Kensington, Greater London
A lovely young family based in South Kensington are looking for a proactive, warm and experienced nanny to care for their son, born November 2025.

The nanny will work on Thursdays and Fridays, alongside another nanny who covers Monday to Wednesday. Mum works from home and enjoys being involved in her son’s day, so the family are looking for someone collaborative and intuitive, who is comfortable working as part of a team while also confidently taking sole charge when required.

This is a long-term role suited to a nanny who is nurturing, organised and genuinely enjoys supporting babies through their early developmental stages.

General Schedule

Thursday: 9.30am–7.30pm
Friday: 9.30am–7.30pm

Some flexibility will be required on Fridays to cover occasional later evenings.

The family would also ideally like someone open to working one weekend day every four to six weeks, although this is not essential.

Candidate Requirements

Proven experience caring for babies and young children within private households
Warm, nurturing and confident personality
Strong understanding of infant development and age-appropriate routines
Proactive and able to plan engaging activities, sensory play and outings
Comfortable working alongside a parent who works from home
Able to take sole charge confidently
Discreet and intuitive, with the ability to read the room
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Confident swimmer
Confident driver in both the UK and Europe
Italian speaker strongly preferred
Right to work in the UK
Passport allowing visa-free travel within Europe
Excellent references and enhanced DBS required
Seeking a long-term position
Key Responsibilities

Providing attentive care and supervision
Managing feeding, sleep, hygiene and daily routines
Supporting developmental milestones through play and engagement
Planning sensory activities, cooking sessions and educational outings
Keeping the child’s bedroom and play areas clean and tidy
Managing the child’s laundry, belongings and daily essentials
Packing and unpacking for family travel
Working collaboratively with Mum and the other nanny
Helping occasionally with light household tasks such as loading or unloading the dishwasher or assisting with returns
Maintaining discretion, professionalism and flexibility at all times
Travel

The family travel internationally and within the UK and would ideally like the nanny to accompany them for approximately two to three weeks during the summer.

During travel, the nanny would usually work five days per week and would be required to share a room with the baby.

For a nanny who prefers not to travel, some of the family’s summer absence would be a combination of paid annual leave and unpaid leave.

Salary

£20–£21 gross per hour, depending on experience.

This role would suit a warm, practical and proactive nanny who enjoys working closely with a family and is looking for a long-term, part-time position.
