 Chef – University of East London 
 REQ: 601044 | Permanent | 1 Vacancy 
 Location: University of East London, Beckton, E16 2RD 
 Salary: £14.50/hour (£19,792.50 annually)
 Hours: 35 hours per week, 5 over 7 days including weekends as required 
 Shift Times: Between 7am – 6pm, with occasional evening work for events 
 Contract: Term-time only (39 weeks per year)
Are you a passionate and experienced chef looking for a new opportunity in a dynamic campus environment?
We’re currently recruiting for a Chef to join our team at the University of East London, supporting a variety of food services including grab-and-go, lunch service, and on-campus hospitality events.
What you’ll be doing:
- Preparing and cooking a variety of meals in line with recipe cards, ensuring high quality and minimal waste
 - Supporting daily food service operations, as well as special events and functions
 - Working closely with a team of chefs and helping train new staff to uphold kitchen standards
 - Managing deliveries, stock levels, food orders, and maintaining accurate kitchen records
 - Ensuring strict adherence to food safety and hygiene protocols, including daily temperature checks and due diligence paperwork
 - Assisting with regular deep cleans of the kitchen and workspaces

- Proven experience in a catering or kitchen environment
 - Strong team player with excellent communication skills
 - Sound knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety practices
 - Flexibility and creativity in the kitchen
