The Role - Nursery Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a caring and committed Nursery Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Hackney. This is a full-time, term-time role working in the Nursery class, where you will be supporting a group of 8 pupils with Down syndrome and a range of complex learning needs.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SEN staff to deliver tailored learning, provide one-to-one and small group support, and help create a calm, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment. You will be expected to support with communication development, emotional regulation, personal care, and sensory-based activities.

This position is ideal for someone with previous experience tutoring or supporting children with significant learning difficulties in a school or nursery environment, and who can bring empathy, consistency, and a hands-on approach to the role.
