Finance Manager

Altum Consulting is pleased to be partnering with Quadrature Climate Foundation (QCF) in its search for a new Finance Manager to join its expanding team on an initial one year fixed-term contract.

QCF was set up in 2019 to scale high impact climate solutions. QCF is funded by Quadrature Capital, an investment fund, whose founders recognised the need for additional funding to address the drivers and impacts of climate change. Through funding global partners in their world-changing work, QCF strives to support wholesale systemic change. Since its inception QCF has seeded new institutions and scaled existing ones, across research, policy advocacy, communications and campaigns, international diplomacy and legal strategies.

Reporting into the Head of Finance as part of a lean Operations team, the Finance Manager will be responsible for a wide-ranging role, including core-finance responsibilities as well as acting as a business partner to the global partners that QCF funds.

This is a unique opportunity that will offer a significant impact on climate programmes, a highly competitive salary and excellent benefits. QCF is based in central London and there is the opportunity for some hybrid working. The role would suit a driven, proactive individual with an impact mindset who takes ownership and is solutions-focussed.

Duties Include:

• Business-partnering programmes teams to oversee programmes from inception to completion including reviewing budget proposals, performing due diligence, updating budgets and forecasts and feeding them into the wider budgets
• Producing and managing the operational expenditure budget alongside the Head of Finance
• Reviewing grant finance reports to assist with the preparation of the donation cashflow forecast
• Management of the day-to-day finances including transactions
• Performing month-end accounting duties and associated reconciliations
• Assisting with statutory accounts preparation and the external audit

The ideal candidate will:

• Be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Be a proactive individual with a problem-solving mindset
• Have strong business-partnering skills and mindset, including the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Have strong knowledge and experience of accounting standards and best finance practice
• Prior experience working within the charity sector, a social enterprise is a benefit
• A demonstrable commitment to climate impact is desirable
