Overview
We are seeking an experienced Financial Modeller to support a 6-month contract assignment. The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant (ACCA or CIMA) with a strong background in reviewing, developing, and enhancing complex financial models. This role requires advanced technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to provide clear, actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, deconstruct, and validate existing financial models to ensure integrity and accuracy
- Identify risks, errors, and areas for improvement within models and make practical recommendations
- Build, update, and enhance complex models in Excel to support business decision-making
- Support calculations relating to provisions and other technically challenging areas
- Provide clear financial insights and reporting to senior stakeholders
- Document processes, assumptions, and outputs to ensure transparency and reproducibility
- Collaborate with finance, audit, and business teams to ensure models meet business needs
Key Requirements
- Fully qualified ACCA or CIMA accountant
- Proven experience in financial modelling within large, complex environments
- Strong audit mindset – ability to take apart models, test robustness, and provide challenge
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills (including scenario analysis, sensitivity testing, and complex formulae)
- Experience with provisions and other technical accounting areas
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate technical outputs clearly to non-finance stakeholders
Desirable Skills
- Experience in regulated industries or large corporate environments
- Exposure to financial control, reporting, or business partnering alongside modelling work
