Full Stack Engineer
Full Stack Developer – TypeScript / React / Node.js
Location: Portsmouth, England
Rate: £410 per day, Outside IR35
Contract: Initial 6 months, with potential extension
Start Date: On or around 4 November 2026
Security Clearance: Active SC clearance or above
On-site: 1–2 days per fortnight
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer to join a team on a greenfield project.
You will build a new TypeScript codebase from scratch, developing across the front-end and backend while contributing to technical architecture, engineering standards and production deployments.
Working alongside the Technical Lead and wider team, you will have the autonomy to shape solutions and deliver secure, scalable and accessible applications.
Key Skills & Experience
5+ years of professional software development experience.
Strong TypeScript skills across front-end and backend development.
React, modern CSS and WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility.
Node.js and REST API development.
PostgreSQL, schema design and query optimisation.
Unit, integration and end-to-end testing.
Git, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred) and Docker.
OIDC authentication and authorisation, ideally with Keycloak.
Experience working in Agile teams and communicating technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable: MOD/Defence experience, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Helm, Terraform and observability tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
