Science Teacher | Redbridge
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join a good-rated secondary school in Redbridge. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about inspiring students in all areas of science, including biology, chemistry, and physics. The successful candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality lessons, supporting student development, and contributing to the wider life of the school.
Role Overview:
As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging lessons that meet the needs of students across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will contribute to a collaborative and supportive science department, helping to develop resources, schemes of work, and innovative teaching approaches. Your work will ensure that students develop both a strong understanding of scientific principles and an enthusiasm for the subject.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver high-quality science lessons in line with the school curriculum.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
Develop teaching resources, lesson plans, and departmental schemes of work.
Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
Support the wider science department in extra-curricular activities, science clubs, and events.
Contribute to the school’s assessment and reporting procedures, including preparation for examinations.
Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and support departmental initiatives.
Uphold the school’s safeguarding, health and safety, and behavioural policies.
Skills and Experience:
Qualified teacher status (QTS) and a relevant degree in a science-related subject.
Strong subject knowledge across all areas of science.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Ability to inspire and engage students of varying abilities.
Experience in assessment, curriculum planning, and classroom management.
Commitment to continuous professional development.
