Sales Assistant
Position: Store Supervisor PART TIME
Location: South Clapham, LONDON
Salary: £14 per hour + Bonus
Contract: PERMANENT 20 hours per week
About Us:
Café Pod is one of the UK’s most exciting coffee brands, known for bringing high-quality, sustainable coffee pods to thousands of homes. Now, we’re bringing the brand to life in a whole new way — with its first-ever bricks-and-mortar retail store.
This store is the first of many – an opportunity to shape what Café Pod looks and feels like in person. It’s not just about coffee; it’s about building a local community, sparking conversations, and delivering an experience that goes beyond the cup.
About You
We’re searching for a Supervisor who lives and breathes great customer service and is passionate about sharing that energy with others. You’ll help set the tone on the shop floor — leading by example, supporting the team day-to-day, and ensuring that every customer interaction is meaningful.
· Service Champion: You’re naturally customer-focused and know how to deliver meaningful, authentic service that turns first-time visitors into regulars. You’re proud of going the extra mile and inspiring others to do the same.
· Training Enthusiast: You love helping others learn — whether it’s guiding a teammate through a new product demo or how to elevate the customer journey you’re always ready to show and tell.
· Retail/Hospitality Experience: You’ve worked in customer environments and have experience supervising small teams, maintaining high standards, and supporting smooth day-to-day operations.
· Team Player: You thrive in a collaborative environment, working alongside management and teammates to ensure everything runs smoothly — from opening prep to closing time.
· Community Focused: You’re friendly, approachable, and enjoy getting to know regular customers — helping Café Pod become a trusted part of the local neighbourhood.
The Role
As a Supervisor, you’ll be at the heart of the daily action — leading from the front, coaching the team, and making sure every customer leaves with an outstanding experience.
· Lead by Example: Set the service standard on the shop floor, guiding the team to deliver exceptional hospitality and product knowledge every day.
· Support Training & Development: Help onboard, train, and upskill team members, ensuring they feel confident with both coffee craft and customer service.
· Customer Journey Ownership: Ensure every customer interaction is personal, informative, and memorable — from recommending blends to sharing brewing tips.
· Support Daily Operations: Assist with day-to-day tasks including stock management, cash handling, store presentation, and maintaining operational standards.
· Team Support & Communication: Act as a key link between the team and management, helping to keep communication flowing, tasks organised, and the vibe positive.
· Uphold Brand Standards: Make sure the store always looks sharp and feels welcoming, with products displayed beautifully and the space inviting for customers.
Application Process
Our recruitment process for the Supervisor role is designed to be clear, engaging, and give us both a good sense of fit:
1. Screening Call – If you're shortlisted, we’ll start with a brief phone call to get to know you, understand your background, and share a bit more about the role.
2. Virtual Teams Interview – Next, you’ll join us for a video interview via Microsoft Teams. This is where we’ll chat about your service ethos, training experience, and day-to-day supervisory skills.
3. Coffee Chat – The final stage is an in-person coffee meeting designed to be a thoughtful, conversational deep dive. We’ll discuss how you lead by example, support team development, and help create a memorable store environment.
