Credit Risk Analytics Manager
What’s Yonder?
“It's as if Time Out, Amex and Monzo had a baby” - Will T, Yonder Member
We’re building the financial membership of the future. One that works for how you live now. Not how your parents banked in the ‘90s.
Yonder combines credit and debit in one membership, designed to be fair, flexible, and actually enjoyable to use. No confusing terms. No dusty points system. Just rewards that actually feel rewarding - from bao to beer to a boarding pass.
We raised £23.4M in September 2024 to grow the team, launch even better rewards, and expand beyond the UK. If that sounds good to you, you’ll probably like it here 🎉
Sounds cool. What’s my part in this?
Over the last year we've added a debit card, a free membership tier, hundreds of new independent partners around the country, and countless product improvements. As our customer base continues to grow and expand, we need to be even smarter about the lending decisions we make and the credit lines we offer. We’re hiring for two Credit Risk Analytics Managers to join Chief Risk Officer Theso in protecting Yonder and its customers from lending and underwriting risk - while also driving growth.
You’ll be at the centre of Yonder’s credit risk strategy - owning the design, implementation, and improvement of how we acquire, manage, and grow our customer base. This is a hands-on role where you’ll have space to try new strategies, measure their impact, and adjust quickly without the red tape of a slow-moving bank. If you love credit risk, have a few years’ experience, and are itching to take full ownership in a fast-paced environment, this is the role for you.
What you’ll do
- Bring in the right customers: You’ll continuously improve our lending decisions, making sure we can approve customers who’ll love Yonder and pay us back on time - and decline those who won’t.
- Help our members grow with us: You’ll find ways to responsibly boost spending, balances, and long-term value from our existing customers. You’ll own this end-to-end: from coming up with an idea, to deploying it quickly, to learning from the result.
- Make changes that stick, fast: You’ll build and tweak credit rules directly in our decisioning tool, Taktile. At Yonder, you can implement good ideas yourself, and changes go live without the wait.
- Solve problems across the business: Credit risk is an important factor in many decisions at Yonder. You’ll work with the marketing team to help attract the right members, with finance to sharpen our credit loss forecasts and provisioning, and with collections to identify customers who are likely to miss a payment and help them get back on track before they do.
- Spot what’s coming: You’ll build monitoring and dashboards, and use these to spot new risks or opportunities before they happen. You’ll also partner with fraud to spot signs of risky early behaviour in new customers, before this turns into losses.
You're a great fit if you
✅ Have a few years’ experience in credit risk, ideally with credit cards or unsecured lending. Bonus points if you have experience with collections or portfolio management!
✅ Get how lending decisions affect commercial outcomes and know your way around scorecards and predictive models.
✅ Can write SQL or Python to dig into data and keep an eye on risk and performance.
✅ Have experience working hands-on in decisioning tools like Taktile (or similar).
✅ Own problems end-to-end: you see an issue, dive in, and fix it fast.
You won’t be a great fit if you
👎 Haven’t worked in credit risk or don’t understand how lending choices impact the business.
👎 Shy away from hands-on work: this isn’t an advisory role, and you’ll need to jump in to deliver changes yourself.
👎 Prefer highly structured environments or struggle with ambiguity. Credit risk at Yonder is constantly evolving, requiring adaptability and creative problem-solving.
👎 Are hesitant to take ownership and lead projects. This role requires proactivity and the ability to drive initiatives forward.
👎 Prefer working solo or in a specialised area, rather than teaming up and solving problems across marketing, collections, finance, and fraud.
