Project Manager - 12 month FTC

Stratford, Greater London

Our AXA Commercial Direct Product Team is on the lookout for an experienced Project Manager to come onboard for a 12 month fixed term contract. If you're passionate about delivering change and thrive in a dynamic environment, this could be a fantastic opportunity for you. We're committed to investing in cutting-edge technology to transform our business, enhance our products, and provide outstanding support to our customers. We're eager to find a talented individual who can help us drive these business improvements and deliver technology solutions that make a real difference. Our Commercial Strategy, Portfolio and Transformation team is responsible for ensuring the smooth and effective delivery of change initiatives across the entire organisation. From large, strategically important projects to smaller, impactful changes, our work involves collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders. We embrace agile methods to maximise our success, and we're looking for someone who can navigate this fast-paced environment with professionalism and enthusiasm. At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. We're also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition. What you'll be doing:

  • Co-ordinate activities across multiple project teams and third parties to drive successful business outcomes.
  • Take ownership of end-to-end change activities in collaboration with Product Owners and Agile Squads.
  • Engage with stakeholders to oversee workstreams and teams, ensuring transparency through regular progress and status updates to Programme Boards.
  • Track progress against delivery milestones, proactively addressing challenges and risks to maintain momentum.
  • Liaise with other programmes, projects, and technical teams to manage dependencies and facilitate smooth delivery of changes.
  • Uphold organisational governance and controls to ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify potential risks early, manage issues effectively, escalate where necessary, and propose pragmatic solutions.
  • Foster a culture centred on continuous learning, improvement, and knowledge sharing across the team.

Previous experience of delivering projects across multiple technology and change teams, ensuring seamless coordination and successful outcomes.
  • Proven expertise in managing complex business change initiatives, navigating organisational complexities with confidence.
  • Programme or Project Management qualification, such as Agile PM, APM, or MSP, reflecting a solid foundation in project management principles.
  • Be proficient in using Project and Programme Management tools to plan, track, and report on progress effectively.
  • Exhibit strong stakeholder management skills, with a track record of working closely with third parties to foster collaboration and achieve shared goals.
  • Internal candidates are encouraged to apply for this role as a secondment opportunity through the internal careers site. As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

AXA Commercial protects businesses, from multinationals to micro start-ups, giving them the confidence to thrive. We're currently making our biggest ever investment to develop the expertise and skills we need to be the best. We're a vibrant community where everyone is supported to learn, develop, and take ownership of their work.

At AXA UK, we're appreciative of the people who work for us and our rewards package is reviewed regularly to reflect that. You can expect to receive:
  • Competitive annual salary dependent on experience
  • Discretionary company & performance-based bonus
  • Contributory pension scheme (up to 12% employer contributions)
  • Life Assurance (up to 10 x annual salary)
  • Private medical cover
  • 28 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
  • Opportunity to buy up to 5 extra days leave or sell up to 5 days leave
  • Wellbeing services & resources
  • AXA employee discounts
