Our team consists of highly-skilled cross-functional consultants, analysts, and support staff.
Role Overview:
As an Interaction Designer, you will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams—including UX designers, front-end developers, researchers, and software engineers—to design services, products, and tools that align with user needs. You will lead the design process, focusing on user interactions to ensure intuitive, user-friendly interfaces for government services. This role will require security clearance (SC), and you must be capable of working within a secure environment while balancing user-cantered design with stakeholder requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand User Journeys: Engage with research to understand user needs, behaviours, and pain points, ensuring design solutions are grounded in user insights.
- Prototype Development: Create and iterate on prototypes to test, validate, and communicate design ideas, improving the product based on feedback.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work in an agile environment alongside developers, researchers, and other designers to translate concepts into effective user-cantered designs.
- Interaction Design: Lead efforts to design how users interact with the product, identifying areas for improvement and enhancement.
- Typography and Affordance: Utilize typography, visual hierarchy, and affordance to improve usability and optimize the user experience.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders across various levels, ensuring design decisions align with user needs and business goals, including support at senior departmental levels.
- Continuous Improvement: Review and analyse existing designs and identify opportunities for enhancement and innovation within the product lifecycle.
Requirements:
- Security Clearance: Must hold or be eligible for SC (Security Check) clearance.
- Proven experience as an interaction designer, UX designer, or a similar role, preferably in a government or public sector environment.
- Strong portfolio showcasing user-cantered designs and prototypes, with a focus on user interaction and usability.
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar.
- Strong understanding of user research methodologies and applying insights to improve designs.
- Experience with agile methodologies and working within multidisciplinary teams.
- Key Competencies:
- Expertise in designing user interactions and flows, ensuring that digital services are easy to use and meet accessibility standards.
- Ability to design and iterate on prototypes that communicate design ideas and meet user requirements.
- Excellent understanding of typography, visual design, and how affordances guide user behaviour.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present ideas and negotiate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Benefits:
- Join a rapidly expanding start-up where personal growth is a part of our DNA.
- Benefit from a flexible work environment focused on deliverable outcomes.
- Receive private medical insurance through Aviva.
- Enjoy the benefits of a company pension plan through Nest.
