Role Summary and Impact

As a Junior Prototyper within our Prototyping and Innovation team, you'll have the chance to help develop cutting-edge prototypes across the whole WPP Media business. Working alongside experienced Senior Prototypers, you'll gain hands-on experience and enhance your skills in a collaborative environment.

We're looking for a positive, code-first approach to problem solving, a strong desire to learn new technical skills, and a keen awareness of the business needs that we're solving for. You'll be comfortable learning and blending technical expertise with product thinking, data insights, and consultancy skills to help deliver prototypes that solve real business problems.

• Prototype Development: Assist in creating prototypes, primarily focused on utilising Python, GCP, LLMs, agentic workflows and other emerging technologies
• Consulting and Product Mindset: Develop a keen interest in what we're prototyping, and why we're prototyping it - learning to bridge the gap between the technical, the product and the business requirements
• Technical Growth: Build and improve proficiency in Python and other relevant technologies. Show experience in at least one of the following: plotting/dashboarding, modeling, or development. Learn from senior team members and seek opportunities for skills enhancement
• User Interface Development: Learn to build user-facing applications using tools like Streamlit, NiceGUI, or React frameworks. Show interest in creating functional front-end interfaces that allow users to interact with prototypes and data outputs.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the prototyping cell members, including Senior Prototypers, and research and design teams. Communicate effectively and foster a positive team atmosphere
• Problem Solving: Learn to solve technical challenges with guidance from senior team members. Develop creative approaches to technical problems while knowing when to seek support
• Learning & Process Implementation: Be willing and eager to learn new technologies, tools, and ways of working. Learn core prototyping principles including deliberate design, rapid iteration, and validation. Participate actively in the team's development processes

• At least 2 years of experience in software development, data science, or a related field
• Preferred background in Data Science, Engineering, or Analytics.
• Familiarity with one or more areas: plotting/dashboarding, modeling, or software development
• Strong desire to learn new technologies and work in a multi product prototyping environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Basic understanding of product discovery, feature prioritisation, problem scoping and requirements gathering
