Job Description
Menswear Knitwear Technologist – Premium Retail
Location : London
Up to £55k + Benefits | Hybrid (1 day WFH)
Potential to go permanent
Ready to make your mark in one of the most dynamic, commercially successful areas of premium menswear? Knitwear is one of this brand’s standout categories — a major growth and profit driver — and they’re now looking for a talented Menswear Knitwear Technologist to elevate it even further.
Join a forward-thinking premium retailer where craftsmanship, innovation, and best‑in‑class quality are at the heart of everything they do. In this pivotal role, you’ll shape the technical excellence of one of the company's most important product areas, ensuring every knitwear piece delivers exceptional fit, feel, and performance.
Why this Role Matters
Knitwear is a powerhouse category for the business — high volume, high margin, and central to the brand’s identity.
What You’ll Be Doing
Leading fit sessions across all stages for knitwear — from first prototype to sealed production — ensuring impeccable consistency and construction.
Producing clear, detailed technical comments and updating tech packs with supportive visuals.
Collaborating closely with design, buying, and product development to bring stunning knitwear ideas to life while maintaining feasibility and quality.
Driving quality standards: approving samples, troubleshooting technical issues, and overseeing testing and wash-care performance.
Managing seasonal block updates, grading accuracy, and the technical critical path.
Reviewing customer returns data to identify technical issues and reduce return rates.
Building strong, productive relationships with suppliers — including audits — ensuring premium standards are consistently met.
What experience you will need to bring to be shortlisted
Solid and recent experience as a menswear garment technologist with strong, hands-on knitwear expertise and from a retail or branded background .
Confidence leading fit sessions and making informed technical decisions.
A keen eye for detail and a genuine passion for premium menswear.
Strong communication skills and the ability to influence teams and suppliers.
Calm, organised and solutions‑focused — especially under pressure.
Commercially aware with the resilience to navigate challenges and deliver results.
London-based and eligible to work in the UK.
Why You’ll Love It
This is a chance to make a real impact within a fast-paced, creative, and supportive environment — and to play a key role in one of the brand’s most profitable, strategically important categories. Your work will be seen, valued, and truly shape the success of future collections.
We aim to respond to all applicants within 48 hours. Due to business demands, delays may occur; if you haven’t heard back within 7 days, please assume your application has been unsuccessful at this time.
