Roles and Responsibilities

This is an important role in supporting the Initiative Health division, building a market-leading insights and analytics function.

Responsible for diving into and fully understanding the existing data, tech and tools across IPG Mediabrands and applying these to inspire innovative media strategies and actionable insights for the wider team.

The main responsibilities for this role will be split across uncovering actionable audience insights and analysing paid media campaign performance, playing a crucial role in developing a data-led approach across media planning and activation.

Insights:

  • Working with Strategy and Media Planning teams, leading the identification and delivery of actionable audience insights required to deliver high performing strategies and media plans for clients.

  • Planning, scoping out and delivering robust and valuable qualitative and quantitative insight reports and confidently presenting these analyses internally and to clients.

  • Supporting media teams on the execution of campaigns, using relevant data to develop insights which help optimise paid media activity across channels.

  • Utilising a combination of available insight tools, bespoke surveys and desk research to contribute to team intelligence on our clients’ industries, products and audiences, supporting in development of integrated channel insights and strategic recommendations.

  • Leading the identification of new research tools and data sources within the industry which could elevate audience and category intelligence across the team and then working with relevant stakeholders to secure these.

  • Identifying new opportunities to leverage research and insights across the whole campaign lifecycle from audience strategy through campaign effectiveness.

  • Manage research projects autonomously (though line manager will advise where necessary). Take client brief, write proposal, liaise with research partners, manage fieldwork, conduct analysis, write debrief.

  • Work on new business pitches: design research, share insights with team.

Analytics:

  • Playing a leading role in analysing campaign performance and effectiveness, ultimately working closely with media teams provide actionable optimisation insights.

  • Creating reporting templates, dashboards and processes to enable regular analysis and clear and impactful client-ready data visualisations.

  • Analysis of business metrics (i.e. MMM outputs) and translation into commercial intelligence and actionable media insights.

  • Contributing to the team on best practices and latest trends across web analytics, SEO, SEM, Paid Media, Paid Social, Social Listening, digital content and campaign measurement.

Skills and Experience

  • Significant experience of utilising research and insight to inform marketing strategies and audience profiles within a healthcare environment.

  • Experience working with and designing research surveys, touchpoints measurement, campaign effectiveness measurement, social listening, syndicated surveys to deliver actionable insights.

  • Understanding of marketing campaign effectiveness and performance analysis, ideally alongside web analytics, and experience delivering this for clients.

  • Comfortable developing and delivering presentations using insights derived from multiple data sources to create a clear data-driven narrative.

  • Ability to manipulate data via analysis packages such as Q, Telmar, IMS, SPSS and strong Excel and PowerPoint skills required.

  • Experience delivering web analytics, Paid Media, Social Listening and campaign performance measurement strongly preferred.

  • Working knowledge of dashboarding tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker Studio) preferred.
