Compliance Manager - SEND Recruitment | Hybrid | North London
Hybrid Compliance Manager – Education Recruitment (Special Educational Needs)
Location: North London (3 days WFH / 2 days office)
Salary: £37,000 – £45,000 (negotiable)
A long-established and financially secure education recruitment agency in North London is looking for a Compliance Manager to take the lead on compliance and administration within their SEND (Special Educational Needs) business.
This could be an ideal role for someone currently working in a corporate environment who is looking for a more relaxed workplace, where staff are valued as individuals rather than just a number.
They are part of a larger group, giving the role stability, resources, and opportunities for growth.
The directors and owners all have a strong personal connection to SEND and are committed to providing a quality, consultative service. They believe in doing things properly — no shortcuts — and in making sure schools receive the best possible service.
Candidates are also at the heart of what they do. Every placement is about finding the right environment, with pay handled correctly and on time. Ongoing CPD, support, and training are offered to help people continue developing their careers in SEND.
This is a key appointment, working closely with the MD (who has a teaching background) and the wider team. The Compliance Manager will play a big part in maintaining high standards, improving processes, and keeping communication clear across the business.
The Role
- Manage the entire compliance and administration team.
- Oversee all compliance processes across the SEND recruitment business.
- Ensure safeguarding and sector standards are consistently met.
- Support the move towards fully digital compliance systems, suggesting improvements to connect all areas of the business.
- Use strong communication skills to manage and delegate effectively.
- Provide a calm and steady influence within a busy environment.
- Liaise confidently with candidates, clients, and colleagues to ensure smooth and professional service delivery.
- Contribute to a collaborative, friendly team environment where everyone supports each other to cover office hours.
- Bring your own ideas — innovation is welcomed and encouraged.
- Opportunity to transition into a Recruitment Consultant role in the future, if you wish to develop your career in that direction.
Benefits
- Hybrid working – 3 days from home, 2 days in the office.
- Staff are trusted to work flexibly and are fully equipped with a phone, laptop, and support to ensure seamless working.
- Flexible working hours to support home commitments.
- Modern North London office, close to shops, bus routes and overground station. Free private parking on site.
- A welcoming and inclusive team culture, where everyone supports each other and works closely together.
- A supportive, ethical, and professional agency with a strong reputation in SEND recruitment.
- The backing of a larger group, providing financial security and future career prospects.
About the Agency
The founders come from a SEND school background with over 25 years’ combined experience before moving into recruitment. Their motivation was to ensure that young people with additional needs received the right support, something often lacking in the wider market.
For more than 13 years, the agency has partnered with schools and Local Authorities. They have built a reputation for understanding SEND settings and supplying tutors, teachers, and support staff across all age groups, from early years through to post-16.
This specialist knowledge underpins the agency’s work, ensuring schools and pupils benefit from a service that is reliable, ethical, and trusted.
Candidate Profile
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Well-presented, intelligent, and personable, with a caring and fun-loving personality.
- Highly organised with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong IT skills, with the ability to use a CRM system and suggest process improvements.
- Skilled in delegation, with the confidence to manage others effectively.
- A calming influence who can steady the team in busy or pressured situations.
- Able to manage deadlines, use initiative, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- A great team player who enjoys supporting others.
This role could suit:
- An experienced compliance professional within education or recruitment.
- Someone from a recruitment background looking to step away from sales into a compliance-focused role.
- Professionals outside of recruitment with strong administration, compliance, or safeguarding experience, looking for a new career challenge in a meaningful sector.
