An exciting full time opportunity for a Clinical Coordinator Band 7 has arisen at Orpington Theatres.
The Clinical Coordinator will be expected to work as an expert practitioner in Perioperative Care and act as an effective role model for best practice, over the elective Orthopaedic Theatres.
To demonstrate effective leadership and motivation of staff.
To lead and co-ordinate the departmental team, taking continuing responsibility for the management and organisation of the clinical area.
To have continuing responsibility for the assessment of patient healthcare needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care.
To ensure a high standard of Perioperative Care and the well-being of patients at all times.
To be responsible for direct management of delegated staff, ensuring robust staff management and performance.
To be responsible for managing the designated budgets.
To act up for the Matron as and when required.
Main duties of the job
Clinical Practice and Management
To work in accordance with the NMC / HCPC Code of Professional Conduct, Trust Policies and Procedures
To act as a clinical expert in the care of a specified group of patients, providing effective leadership, acting as a positive role model and demonstrating advanced specialist practitioner skills to support the multi-disciplinary team.
Is clinically and professionally up-to-date with current trends and developments in clinical specialty.
To set agreed standards of Perioperative Care and to monitor them and take action to improve if necessary.
Good verbal and written communication skills so that professional advice, care guidance and instructions are well understood by patients, their relatives and/or carers, and members of the multi-disciplinary team.
To work effectively as part of the multi-professional, interdisciplinary team.
To be fully involved in the health education of patients and relatives, taking every opportunity to promote a healthy lifestyle.
To promote a holistic and multi-disciplinary approach to care, ensuring continuity of care.
In conjunction with senior nurses/colleagues within the Division, to develop clinical policies and protocols relevant to the area, ensuring that practice is evidence based.
To participate in benchmarking & quality audits, and observations of care.
To be active in Education and Research, including Personal Professional Development.
