Site Assistant | Good Primary School | Waltham Forest
We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and organised Site Assistant to join a good-rated primary school in Waltham Forest. This role is key to maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will support the smooth day-to-day running of the school site and contribute to its overall safety and upkeep.
Role Overview:
As Site Assistant, you will provide essential support in the maintenance, security, and general operation of the school site. You will work closely with the site manager and staff to ensure the school environment is safe, clean, and well-maintained. Your role will involve hands-on duties, monitoring the site, and responding quickly to any operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out general maintenance and cleaning tasks to ensure the school is safe and welcoming.
Monitor and maintain the security of the school site, including gates, doors, and alarm systems.
Assist with the setup and breakdown of school events, meetings, and activities.
Report and coordinate repairs or issues with equipment, facilities, or infrastructure.
Ensure compliance with health and safety, fire, and safeguarding procedures.
Assist with deliveries, moving equipment, and managing the storage of school resources.
Support contractors and external suppliers as required.
Maintain accurate records related to site management and safety checks.
Skills and Experience:
Previous experience in site management, maintenance, or caretaking, ideally within a school or educational setting.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to respond to issues proactively.
Good communication skills to liaise with staff, contractors, and visitors.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of health and safety procedures and compliance standards.
Physical capability to carry out manual tasks safely.
