Operations Lead
About Gizmo
Gizmo is an AI startup on a mission to make learning so easy that anyone can learn anything. We're building Duolingo for Anything - a platform that uses gamification and social mechanics to make learning fun and effective. With over 1 million monthly active users and $4M in annual recurring revenue, we're already one of the fastest-growing startups in the UK. Well funded with $22M in Series A backing from top investors like NFX and Ada Ventures, Gizmo has achieved 10x growth in the past year. We're now positioned to scale from $4M to $25M ARR by 2026 while expanding our market leadership into the US.
About the role
We're now looking our first Operations hire to serve as the operational backbone during our transition from startup to scale-up. Working directly with our three Founders, veterans from Google, Amazon, and the education sector, you'll build the foundational systems across finance, people, and strategy that will support our next phase of hypergrowth as we scale from 10 to 50+ employees. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role where you'll shape the operational DNA of a company redefining how the world learns.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Operations: own the business review processes, ensuring all teams hit their goals and key milestones. You'll be responsible for tracking specific metrics, maintaining project delivery timelines, and escalating blockers before they impact our targets.
- Finance & Investor Relations: own all financial matters, investor communications, and fundraising support as we scale. You'll be responsible for maintaining financial health and transparency.
- People: own the operational backbone that enables us to grow the team while maintaining culture and efficiency. You'll be accountable for talent acquisition, people operations, office management, and the systems that scale with us.
- Business Operations: own operational excellence and compliance frameworks across the business. You'll be responsible for building lightweight processes that enable speed without sacrificing quality.
- Legal & Compliance: own all legal and regulatory compliance matters as we scale internationally and navigate the evolving regulation landscape. You'll be responsible for ensuring corporate governance, data protection compliance, and managing relationships with external legal counsel.
