LOCATION: Cobham Training Ground

CONTRACT: Permanent, Part Time. 6 hours a week, varied & flexible working schedule throughout the week. This is a delivery focused role and will include up to evenings and weekend work. (draft timetables shared upon request).

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To be a delivery staff member in the Inclusion and Disability team, delivering weekly sport and physical activity sessions, across multiple projects, offering high quality sessions to enhance a participant’s personal development and have a positive impact on their families.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and informative sessions that will offer sustained participation with CFCF, ensuring session plans are readily available on request from CFCF assessors.
  • To deliver on activity to support, develop and enhance the relationships with local charitable organisations, education providers, county FA’s, and disability specific organisations.
  • Promote and champion equality and inclusion by adapting delivery to meet the needs of the young people and adults at risk attending the sessions.
  • To have a strong understanding of the inclusion and disability department, working closely with the Inclusion and Disability Senior Officer and the Inclusion & Disability Coordinator to develop and deliver sessions and activities.
  • To support the team by networking and sharing relevant information and opportunities to further enhance the out-reach delivery programme.

MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE:

  • To ensure session plans, participation forms, recording sheets, risk assessments and registers are completed accurately and given to the appropriate CFCF or associated staff member.
  • Support the collection of monitoring and evaluation data of associated sessions in accordance with the needs of each project.
  • To implement all safeguarding policies and procedures as outlined by Chelsea FC Foundation and report any safeguarding/welfare incidents that may take place during, before and after a session to the relevant officer, as well as the production of dynamic risk assessments for every session.
  • Deliver additional roles and responsibilities as required by the Chelsea FC Foundation and Ad hoc duties as requested by Chelsea FC Foundation Management staff.
  • To be a positive role model, creating a safe, positive and fun environment in which to motivate and encourage young people to succeed and develop.
  • To build robust relationships with the participants, families, local schools, clubs, organisations and authorities.
  • To help and support team staff, mentor and guide sessional workers in best practice and professionalism.
  • You will have overall responsibility for the welfare of children in your care and should not leave them in the care of others. You should ensure that all children are signed in and out of all activities by a parent, carer or teacher/associated staff member or follow walk home alone procedure.

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Qualifications:

Essential

  • A minimum of the new FA Introduction to Football Coaching qualification. (FA Level 1 is the equivalent qualification).
  • Disability Inclusion Specific Sports Qualification.
  • In date FA Safeguarding Children course & the FA Introduction to First Aid in Football certificate.
  • Ability to travel to activity & meetings across Surrey, Kingston & London

  • Youth worker Qualification.
  • FA Level 2 Football Coaching Qualification
  • Multi-sports Qualifications.

Experience:

  • Been involved in community/grass roots sports as a participant or coach.
  • Worked as part of a team within a sporting environment.
  • Ability to deliver inclusive activities and have an understanding of Equality and Diversity.
  • Experience of organising and motivating young people, aiding their personal development.
  • Awareness of safeguarding and health and safety procedures within a sport and youth work setting.
  • Experience of working with young people to support their wellbeing and personal development.
