SEN Teaching Assistant | Croydon
An inclusive and forward-thinking primary school in Croydon is recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional learning needs. This SEN Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and develop confidence within the classroom environment.
Working as an SEN Teaching Assistant in Croydon, you will support pupils across a range of needs, including learning difficulties, behavioural challenges, and emotional regulation. Support may be delivered within the classroom, through small group interventions, or on a 1:1 basis. The school places a strong emphasis on teamwork, and the SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with teachers, therapists, and the SENCO.
The SEN Teaching Assistant will assist with lesson preparation, adapt resources where needed, and support pupils to stay focused and engaged. Encouraging positive behaviour, promoting independence, and supporting social development are key aspects of the role. The school values consistency and clear communication, ensuring pupils feel safe and supported throughout the day.
Applicants should have prior experience working with children with SEN, either within a school or a relevant setting. A caring, resilient, and adaptable approach is essential, along with the ability to follow guidance and contribute ideas when appropriate. The SEN Teaching Assistant should be confident supporting children emotionally as well as academically.
This SEN Teaching Assistant role in Croydon offers ongoing support, training opportunities, and the chance to be part of a school that genuinely values inclusion and staff wellbeing.
To be considered for this position, please forward a CV as soon as possible.
