An outstanding SEN school in Sydenham are looking to add to their team for 2025. The students have ASD, MLD (mild learning difficulties) and speech and communication issues. The KS2 Teacher Job
We are seeking a KS2 Teacher for a vibrant and Outstanding rated school in Sydenham, specialising in supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Mild Learning Difficulties (MLD) in KS2 for an ASAP start. These classes are mixed and the students are working from an EYFS curriculum which has been tailored to suit the needs of the individual students as they develop routines and establish independence in their school journey.
The School
The successful KS2 Teacher applicant would be joining an outstanding rated SEN school in Sydenham for children with severe learning difficulties. The school is rated outstanding by Ofsted in all areas and has been since 2019.
KS2 Teacher Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement personalised educational curriculums and schemes of work
- Independence, decision making and an introduction to the curriculum.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and educational psychologists.
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere.
- Write reports when necessary
- Engage with parents and caregivers to support student development at home and in school.
- Work with and lead a support team within the classroom
- Work pastorally with your class to ensure well-being goals are met
KS2 Teacher Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of ASD and SLD.
- Experience working in a primary education setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
