Investment Strategist - Omnis Investments

The opportunity

This is a hybrid role, based in our London office, with the requirement to be in the office at least 2 days a week.

As the Investment Strategist you will work alongside other members of the Investment Strategy team to contribute to the investment strategy function of Omnis, including the day to day running of the Omnis tactical asset allocation process. This includes macroeconomic research, investment strategy and tactical asset allocation.

You will also be responsible for researching and developing key areas of asset allocation in agreement with the Chief Investment Strategist and contributing to the formation of the Omnis tactical asset allocation.

Proactive contributions to the wider Investment Team will also be expected.

Your responsibilities will include:

• The day-to-day organisation and maintenance of the Omnis tactical asset allocation process.
• The analysis, oversight and risk management of key areas of the asset allocation resulting in investment recommendations.
• Contributing to view formation in other areas of the asset allocation.
• Trade calculation and instruction.
• The ongoing development of the Omnis tactical asset allocation process.
• The formation of Omnis tactical asset allocation and portfolio construction views.
• Increasing the intellectual capital and skills base of the Investment Team.
• The effective communication of Omnis investment strategy to key stakeholders.
• Analysis and views of external Investment Managers appointed by Omnis.
• Maintain a detailed understanding of the FCA’s Conduct Risk initiative, particularly with regards to “Customer Outcomes”. Ensure that the fair treatment of customers is at the centre of any decisions.
• Ensure knowledge of regulation and consumer duty and application to role.
• Ensure consumer duty is embedded in day-to-day activities and discussed in all forums.
• Maintain a good understanding of industry best practice with regard to all regulatory needs.

What will you need to succeed?

• Substantial involvement in top down, fundamental investment strategy formation across all asset classes, in particular equities.
• Experience of using funds to implement TAA views.
• Working in a team-based environment to formulate investment strategy.
• A qualified CFA Charter holder is an advantage.
• Knowledge of key macroeconomic variables and their implications for investment strategy formation.
• Knowledge of relevant macroeconomic and market metrics.
• Knowledge of portfolio construction methods.
• Risk management of multi asset portfolios.
• Discretionary portfolio management with adviser/client distribution model and platform implementation.
