Business Continuity Manager

We are looking for a dedicated and versatile individual to join our team as a Business Continuity Manager.
It is an exciting time to join c2c as we move into a new era of railway reform, aligning with Great British Railways (GBR) and the Department for Transport (DfT) to deliver a simpler, more connected and passenger-focused railway.
Purpose of the Job:
The role is to manage business continuity which includes business resilience & contingency within c2c. The role is designed to help improve the operational resilience of c2c, ensuring we can minimise disruption, maintain operability and help prevent disaster. This is a cross-functional role, covering all operations/functions of the business. The role will be expected to help implement and maintain ISO 22301 and contribute to Business Continuity strategy and horizon scanning.
Key Accountabilities:
- Developing the strategy for business continuity, business resilience & contingency, ensuring ISO22301 compliance.
- Create, implement, and periodically review a Business Continuity Management System and associated documentation, inclusive of a Business Continuity Plan, Business Impact Analysis, and Business Continuity Strategies.
- Advise on the approach to Business Continuity, Organisational Resilience and Incident Response.
- Design, plan and deliver Business Continuity exercises – both Desktop and Simulation
- Create Business Continuity strategies for identified risks, ensuring they are safety validated, cost effective and risk assessed to ensure the approach is fit for purpose
- Design and implement a periodic horizon scanning risk approach and keep up to date with external risk benchmarks and new trends in risk management.
- Manage a programme of Business Continuity assurance and continuous improvement review.
- Manage the investigation of Business Continuity incidents to enable lessons learnt to be identified.
Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications Required:
- The post holder must hold the appropriate professional membership of the Business Continuity Institute.
- Hold or be working towards a Business Continuity diploma.
- Hold or be working towards a NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent).
- Good standard of general education.
- Attention to detail.
- Well organised and ability to prioritise workloads.
- Understanding of ISO certificated systems.
