A thriving secondary school in Lewisham is seeking an experienced Finance Officer to join its central administration team. The school places considerable importance on effective financial management and is looking for someone who can contribute to the smooth running of its financial operations.
The Role
The Finance Officer will support the school's financial administration, ensuring that transactions are processed accurately and financial records are maintained to a high standard. Duties will include processing invoices, raising purchase orders, reconciling accounts, monitoring expenditure and assisting with budget reports. You will also liaise with suppliers and colleagues across different departments to resolve finance-related queries and ensure payments are processed within agreed timescales.
Requirements
Candidates should have previous experience in a finance or accounts-based role, with a good understanding of financial administration and reconciliation processes. Strong numerical skills, attention to detail and confidence using Microsoft Excel are essential. Experience using school finance systems would be an advantage.
