Architecture Practice Coordinator
INTRODUCTION
At Burberry, we believe creativity opens spaces. Our purpose is to unlock the power of imagination to push boundaries and open new possibilities for our people, our customers and our communities. This is the core belief that has guided Burberry since it was founded in 1856 and is central to how we operate as a company today.
We aim to provide an environment for creative minds from different backgrounds to thrive, bringing a wide range of skills and experiences to everything we do. As a purposeful, values-driven brand, we are committed to being a force for good in the world as well, creating the next generation of sustainable luxury for customers, driving industry change and championing our communities.
This role is responsible for the operational coordination of the Burberry Technology Architecture practice, including governance forums, documentation, resource planning, standards administration, practice communications and dayto-day operating routines. The role ensures the Architecture practice runs in a structured, consistent and wellgoverned way across Burberry IT, with clear follow-up, action tracking and stakeholder engagement to keep agreed activities moving.
JOB PURPOSE
The Architecture Practice Co-ordinator keeps the IT Architecture practice running smoothly. They coordinate architecture forums and governance cadences, maintain documentation and decision records, track architecture demand and resource allocation, and manage the operational activities that allow Enterprise Architects, Senior Solution Architects and Solution Architects to focus on strategy, design, governance and delivery support. The role requires someone who can build effective working relationships, communicate clearly and persuasively, and help move agreed actions forward in a constructive, organised and consistent way. This is an operational coordination role, not an architecture design role. The role does not define architecture strategy, set standards or approve designs, but ensures architecture decisions, standards, records and ways of working are properly captured, maintained and followed up.
ACCOUNTABILITY BOUNDARIES AND KEY INTERFACES
• Accountable for the coordination and administration of the Architecture practice, including forums, actions, documentation, standards administration and practice communications.

- Coordinate architecture governance forums, architecture reviews and standards boards, including scheduling, agendas, materials, minutes, decision records and follow-up actions
- Maintain architecture governance artefacts, including decision logs, standards repositories, reference architecture materials, exceptions, waivers, review outcomes and supporting audit trails, ensuring they are current, accessible and consistently structured
- Track architecture actions, exceptions, waivers and follow-ups, using constructive challenge and persuasive follow-through to keep agreed activities moving and escalating overdue or unresolved items to the relevant architect, forum owner or architecture leadership team where appropriate
- Coordinate architecture input into the portfolio process, ensuring impact assessments, design reviews and checkpoints are scheduled and completed within agreed timescales
- Maintain visibility of architecture demand across portfolio, programme, platform and domain-aligned teams, supporting the VP and architecture leadership team to identify capacity constraints and prioritisation challenges. • Track resource allocation across the architecture pool, including Enterprise Architects, Senior Solution Architects, Solution Architects and contingent architecture resources
- Coordinate onboarding and administration for contingent architecture resources, including access, induction, allocation tracking and offboarding
- Support the VP Strategy, Architecture & Data with practice planning, budget tracking, purchase orders, vendor administration and reporting inputs
- Own and maintain architecture ways of working documentation, including templates, governance guidance, review processes, practice routines, naming conventions, version control and document ownership expectations
- Coordinate internal communications and architecture community activities, including practice updates, knowledge-sharing sessions and brown bags
- Support adoption of architecture documentation standards by working with architects and delivery teams to keep key materials current, accessible and consistently maintained.
PERSONAL PROFILE
- Proven experience in a practice coordination, PMO, business operations, governance coordination or operational administration role within a technology environment
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple forums, documents, actions, deadlines and stakeholders
- Comfortable working with senior technology leaders, architects and technical stakeholders
- Knowledge of architecture as a discipline is beneficial, with enough understanding of architecture concepts to coordinate reviews, documentation and resource planning effectively
- Strong attention to detail, with experience maintaining action logs, decision records, documentation repositories and governance materials
- Confident and persuasive communicator, able to build constructive relationships, produce clear agendas, meeting notes, action summaries and practice updates, and secure timely input or action from stakeholders without creating unnecessary friction
- Experience supporting resource allocation, capacity tracking, budget administration or contingent resource onboarding is beneficial
- Experience or knowledge of architecture governance, technical standards management or design review processes is beneficial
- Experience of governance processes in any context is useful, particularly where it involved coordinating forums, tracking decisions, following up actions and maintaining records
- Practical experience of using enterprise architecture tools, such as Ardoq or similar EA repository and platform tools, is highly beneficial
- Comfortable working with structured repositories, workflow tools and collaboration platforms to maintain accurate records, track actions and provide visibility of progress
- Able to bring structure to ambiguous or evolving ways of working, helping turn informal practices into repeatable routines, templates and governance processes. • Experience in Retail, Luxury or Consumer Goods industries is beneficial
