JOB: Fundraiser, River Thames Boat Project - apply by 27 Feb
Salary: £35,000 per annum pro rata / 22.5 hours per week
A fantastic opportunity to bring your energy and fundraising expertise to this river-based charity.
Are you passionate about fundraising and supporting the local community?
River Thames Boat Project needs an experienced fundraiser to join the team. You will bring energy and ideas to raise capital funds to expand the cruises and education programmes on the Thames and to cover the annual running costs.
River Thames Boat Project is a charity with over 30 years history, operating two community boats on the River Thames. The charity’s mission is to make the Thames accessible to all. They provide opportunities for individuals to experience river and waterways environments to enhance their personal, social, and educational wellbeing. Their boats are wheelchair accessible.
They are looking for an experienced and motivated fundraiser with a proven track record of raising capital funds and building relationships with individuals, community groups, trusts and foundations and other donors to achieve and exceed annual capital and income targets. You will have the skills to create compelling proposals and appeals that successfully engage and attract donations from new and existing supporters.
You will be joining a small staff team of three people, supported by about 70 volunteers. Their volunteers are key to delivering their activities. The successful candidate will need to work collaboratively with volunteers and the staff team.
The position is 3 days (22.5 hours) per week, home-based, with the expectation of regular attendance at the charity’s office in Teddington, plus some evenings and weekends for events, and for funder meetings when required.
Application is by CV and a one-page supporting statement answering the following three questions:
- Why do you want this role?
- What experience do you have in raising funds for capital projects?
- What do you think are the three most important steps in raising capital funds?
The closing date for applications is Friday 27 February 2026.
Interviews will be held in early March 2026.
