Our client, a leading international financial services group, is seeking an experienced Operational Tax Manager to join their London office. This is a key role within the Operations function, responsible for managing and enhancing operational tax compliance and client tax reporting across European entities.

You’ll act as the first point of contact for all operational tax matters—ensuring consistent application of global tax standards, overseeing client reporting outputs, and maintaining a strong compliance culture across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on and manage compliance with FATCA , CRS , and the Qualified Intermediary (QI) regime, including health checks and periodic reviews.
• Provide expert operational tax guidance on reporting, governance, and client servicing.
• Review and improve operational tax processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy across all reporting lines.
• Oversee the format and content of client tax reporting , including CGT computations and Composite Tax Vouchers.
• Support management in defining tax policies that align with global standards and business objectives.
• Identify and mitigate emerging tax risks, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and proactive risk management.

About You

• Qualified tax professional (CTA/ATT or equivalent) with 5–10 years’ experience in operational tax within financial services or a Big 4 / mid-tier practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of FATCA , CRS , QI , and global withholding tax regimes .
• Understanding of MDR , CCO , and UK operational tax requirements.
• Experience with client tax reporting, particularly Composite Tax Vouchers and Capital Gains Tax .
• Excellent communication and analytical skills – able to explain complex issues clearly.
• Highly organised, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; Avaloq experience desirable.
• Up‑to‑date awareness of FCA regulatory frameworks related to tax compliance.
