The team you’ll work with:
The Lending and Trade Product Management team sits within HSBC Innovation Banking's Commercial Office Organisation, alongside other Product Management teams (Payments, FX, Cards, Liquidity and Digital Channels), as well as adjacent teams including Innovation Markets, Product Sales Advisory and Implementation, Marketing, Client Experience and Internal Communications.
The value you’ll add:
As Head of Lending and Trade Product Management (GCB3), you’ll lead the strategy, design and delivery of the lending and trade finance products tailored to the unique needs of clients in the UK’s leading innovation economy.
In addition to product maintenance and commercialisation, you’ll also lead on feature enhancement and new product development in this domain. You’ll shape key strategic priorities for the product, working closely with and influencing internal partners (within the UK Innovation Bank as well as broader HSBC UK). This activity includes responsibility for managing existing products within the Innovation Banking UK to positively impact our client and customer experience.
What you can expect to be doing:
Mentoring and developing a high-performing product management team.
Representing HSBC Innovation Banking at relevant industry events and conferences
Attend and contribute to key committees such as ALCO, Product & Pricing Committee, Credit Risk Committee, HBUK Global Trade Solutions Risk Review Committee
Actively involved in Business or Change Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR).
Contribute to the strategic agenda for Trade and Lending products by keeping abreast of trends and developments in the external market, ensuring that HSBC Innovation Banking UK’s lending and trade product offering keeps pace with market competitors
Act a thought leader and strategic advisor leveraging product expertise and expert knowledge to shape key business decisions and drive HSBC Innovation banking success
Oversee product governance activities including new product approvals and manage new feature, product, or platform developments, implementation and new product launches as required.
Requirements:
Domain knowledge of trade finance or lending / debt
Experience of product management, gained through product management, implementations, coverage / origination etc. Knowledge of Commercial/SME lending or trade products is preferred but suitability may extend to consumer / retail lending products. A proven ability to define and drive lending or trade product strategy in an agile Commercial Banking environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a passion for telling stories with data to influence and facilitate strong collaboration across business areas.
Experience of new product development, and a solid understanding of product lifecycle methodology and product governance.
Ability to mobilise teams to continually deliver improvements to products, performance and processes, offering guidance and leadership throughout.
Ability to build networks and relationships internally and externally, and experience of working within virtual and matrix reporting environments.
