Product Manager (Technical)
Product Manager (Technical)
London/UK Based
We’re seeking an amazing Product Manager with strong analytical, technical, and strategic skills to join our customer-obsessed product team. You will lead the roadmap and development plans for both our internal and external-facing Demand Side Platform (DSP), working closely with our internal operations & engineering teams and client trading teams.
This is a hands-on role covering both tactics and high-level strategy and you’ll help set the vision for our DSP platform, where we’re going and drive the plans for how we get there. You do this by balancing detail orientation, pragmatism, and a thirst for boldness and making a difference. You’ll get to work with people across and outside the business, at all levels of seniority, and you’ll quickly grow to being a respected and invaluable member of the Blis team. You’ll make decisions based on market and customer research, stakeholder feedback, operational data, and, of course, your own experience and intuition. You will serve as the CEO of your area, bridging the gaps across all departments involved in a successful product launch. You’ll love telling stories with data and finding new ways to delight people with our products.
This is a full-time position based in the United Kingdom. We’ve embraced flexible working and expect this to continue indefinitely, but occasional team or client meetings will be required in either London or Edinburgh. We expect this to be on the order of once a month or less.
The role and key responsibilities
- Full lifecycle product management, from concept to commercialisation
- Research and synthesise data from sources across Blis, the industry, our competitors, our markets, and our customers to identify gaps, trends, and opportunities for DSP improvements
- Assess current and upcoming competitor DSP offerings, seeking opportunities for differentiation and key positioning
- Translate opportunities into plans, plans into actions, and actions into results
- Work transparently with stakeholders to ensure they understand and have a voice into planning and implementation
- Perform high-level, light-touch project management across multiple execution teams, including engineering, marketing, and sales
- Drive a Lean Development culture and ensure that we operate efficiently and effectively
Requirements
- Knowledge & hands-on experience of working with in-market DSPs such as Trade Desk, DV360 etc
- Some experience working as a product manager or with product management teams in a technology business
- Capability for operating with complex technical products in a complex, fast-moving industry
- Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
- Deep track record of creating clear, concise, appropriate, and informed product requirements, expressed as wireframes and product specifications
- Ability to work closely with engineering teams to understand solutions, timelines, and resourcing requirements
- Familiarity with statistics and the statistical analysis of data
Desirable skills & Experience
- Hands-on familiarity with operating advertising platforms
- Comfort with SQL and related technologies for accessing and analyzing data (optional)
