Role Summary
A highly inclusive and nurturing primary school located in Walthamstow, East London , is seeking a compassionate and reliable Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join their dedicated support team. This is a full-time, long-term role offering stability, professional development, and the opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children with additional needs.
The role involves supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), speech and language difficulties, sensory processing needs, and general learning difficulties . Support is provided on a 1:1 basis and within small groups , both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your duties will include:
Providing tailored 1:1 support for pupils with SEN
Supporting small group interventions focusing on learning and social skills
Assisting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and communication needs
Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour management
Helping pupils access the curriculum through differentiated support
Working collaboratively with class teachers and the SENCO
Implementing strategies from EHCPs and individual support plans
Supporting pupils during transitions, break times, and lunch
Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive self-esteem
Monitoring and recording pupil progress
Supporting personal care needs when required
Upholding safeguarding and wellbeing policies
