About the Role
As a Teacher of Science, you will bring empirical inquiry, experimental design, and fundamental scientific principles to life across biology, chemistry, and physics. Joining a highly collaborative, forward-thinking department with outstanding laboratory infrastructure, you will deliver compelling, high-rigor lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 (GCSE Combined & Triple Sciences), and Key Stage 5 (A-Level Biology, Chemistry, or Physics / Level 3 Applied Science), equipping young minds with the analytical tools and scientific literacy vital for modern scientific careers and top-tier university pathways.

Prepare GCSE and A-Level candidates thoroughly for national written examinations through explicit modeling of quantitative calculations, practical analysis, and data-driven progress tracking.
Foster a safe, vibrant, and inquiry-led laboratory environment where scientific questioning, experimental accuracy, and collaborative problem-solving are celebrated.
Track, evaluate, and monitor pupil progress systematically, executing targeted extension strategies to stretch high-aspiring scientists targeting Oxbridge/Russell Group STEM programs while scaffolding complex concepts for developing learners.
Contribute actively to departmental enrichment, including STEM clubs, national Science Week initiatives, scientific Olympiad competitions, and university laboratory visits.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognized teaching credential.
A strong academic degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Biochemistry, Engineering, or a closely related scientific discipline.
Proven track record or demonstrated capability of delivering outstanding Science instruction across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (KS5/A-Level science teaching capability in your specialism is highly desirable).
Thorough knowledge of national examination board specifications (e.g., AQA, Edexcel, OCR) and laboratory safety regulations (CLEAPSS / COSHH).
Outstanding classroom presence, strong analytical communication skills, and an infectious enthusiasm for scientific discovery and practical inquiry.
Salary & Benefits
Pay Scale: Outer London Main / Upper Pay Scale (MPS/UPS Outer London, commensurate with experience), with potential TLR opportunities available for Key Stage Science Coordination, STEM Lead, or Physics/Chemistry/Biology Specialist Lead.
Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS), comprehensive continuous professional development (CPD), structured mentoring pathways, and access to staff health and wellbeing benefits.
