What You’ll Be Doing / How You’ll Be Involved
Camden Libraries had the highest percentage of engagement in London in the most recent DCMS Participation Survey. The service is ambitious and energetic and we explore and experiment to develop the best service for and with the residents. This Libraries Development Manager role is critical to sustaining this forward thinking service development. The role is part of the Libraries Management Team along with the Head of Service, the Digital, Learning and Programme Manager and two Area Leads. The Libraries Development Manager is the strategic lead for the collections development; the Home Library Service; internal and external stakeholder development and nurturing; funding applications; the reader development offer and cultural programming. Its an exciting role which can shape and make a difference to the service and the residents of Camden.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.

This role is perfect for someone who can work in an agile way, think creatively and deliver within and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will lead on and deliver multiple strands of work simultaneously. You will be a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills with experience of growing and nurturing partnerships. We are seeking someone who understands and knows the public library sector and who has experience of managing public library collections and ideally the procurement of these collections. Digital skills are essential for this role with experience of library management systems. You will be open and encouraging of experimenting with new ideas and have a can do attitude, welcoming ideas from the whole libraries team resulting in action and measuring of impact. The Libraries Management Team is a small team so doing is essential in this role.
