ER Manager - Interim 6 month opportunity

Our specialist Employee Relations team is looking for a pragmatic, solutions-focused ER Manager who can make a real impact. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, sociable environment and wants to shape how we manage ER across a large, dynamic hospitality business.

With c.350 restaurants across the UK and Ireland, our ER team is at the heart of supporting our people and leaders. As an ER Manager, you’ll play a key role in overseeing complex ER cases, guiding senior leaders through challenging situations, and driving continuous improvement in our ER practices, while managing the day-to-day of the ER team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the management of high-volume and complex ER cases, ensuring consistency, fairness and legal compliance across the business.
• Provide expert advice, coaching and challenge to senior leaders, Territory Managers and General Managers to build capability and confidence in handling ER issues.
• Analyse ER case data to identify trends, risks and opportunities, and translate insights into practical recommendations for improvement.
• Shape and refine ER policies, processes and toolkits to ensure they remain fit-for-purpose and future-focused.
• Partner closely with the wider People team on strategic projects, embedding best practice and aligning ER with business priorities.
• Stay ahead of employment law developments, ensuring the business is proactive in adapting to change.

What you’ll need:

• CIPD qualification (or equivalent experience) with a strong track record in ER management.
• Deep knowledge of UK employment law and Employment Tribunal processes.
• Proven experience leading complex ER cases and providing advice up to senior leadership level.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to spot trends, assess risks and develop solutions that balance legal compliance with commercial needs.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge where needed.
• A proactive, collaborative and pragmatic approach, with the ability to balance operational demands with strategic priorities.
• Previous experience managing a team.
