Senior Financial Accountant

Reporting into the Finance Manager within this growing Group Finance function, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role both in the transactional and reporting activity for our Head Office companies.
Responsibilities will range from month end journals and balance sheet reconciliations, to assisting in the production of audited statutory accounts. You will also support the development of the Group’s ERP system (Sage Intacct) and submit monthly financial reporting via the Group’s consolidation system (Oracle FCCS).
It is an ideal role for a qualified accountant looking to build on their previous experience in a relevant role.
Summary of role:
Managing several multi-currency ledgers. This includes multi-currency journal postings, completing ledger revaluations and monthly FX proof calculations.
Preparation and entry of month end journals in accordance with the timetable (including, but not limited to accruals, prepayments, depreciation, payroll and multi-currency intercompany postings).
Intra-Group AR processing, from raising invoices to credit control and cash allocation
Production of timely monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts.
Accounts payable and GRNI reconciliations. This will include working with the accounts payable team to help resolve any mismatches as they arise through the month.
Maintenance of fixed asset register and posting of related month end journals.
Reconciliation of intercompany balances, including counterparty confirmations.
Production of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Ownership of monthly management reporting into the Group consolidation system (Oracle FCCS) for a number of Head Office entities.
Managing technical accounting requirements for all Head Office entities.
Prepare and maintain Head Office process notes.
Supporting the preparation of certain statutory accounts and year end audit files for Head Office entities to strict reporting timelines.
Support the Head of Group Reporting and Finance Manager on ad hoc matters as required.
Qualifications / Education:
Strong academics
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
Knowledge & Skills:
Essential:
Highly organised, with the ability to take the initiative and prioritise workload to meet key deadlines; takes responsibility for tasks and their delivery.
Excellent attention to detail; works accurately and efficiently.
Comfortable dealing with technical accounting for both monthly accounting and for the purposes of preparing the statutory accounts.
Builds strong relationships with people at all levels in the organization, and comfortable dealing with senior management in a professional, knowledgeable manner.
Questioning: identifies and drives improvements to processes and controls.
Experience:
Essential:
Excellent understanding of general ledger accounting.
Experience of accounts payable operations and best practices.
Extensive experience using accounting software, and Microsoft Word and Excel (including pivot tables and vlookups).
Good understanding of financial processes and controls.
Experience of working in a large international organisation.
Experience of technical accounting under UK GAAP.
Desirable:
Experience of Sage Intacct.
Experience of balance sheet reconciliation software.
Experience of technical accounting under IFRS.
Experience of preparing entity statutory accounts and managing their audit from planning through to completion of filed accounts.
