Biofuels Originator
- Understand Local Business Needs: Act as a key point of contact for our local business units. You'll understand their operational needs and translate them into concrete sourcing strategies and market tenders.
- Identify and Develop New Sourcing Opportunities: Find and build partnerships for sustainable biofuels and renewable feedstock supply across Europe and beyond.
- Build Strong Partnerships: Grow and maintain relationships with suppliers, traders, producers, blenders, and refiners.
- Optimise Value and Risk: Evaluate and recommend short- and long-term contracts, balancing market fundamentals, compliance needs, and financial value.
- Stay Ahead of Market Trends: Track global biofuels markets, regulatory updates, and arbitrage opportunities to support strategic decisions.
- Deliver Strategic Insights: Provide accurate market forecasts, pricing analysis, and scenario planning to guide supply and investment strategies.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Align physical trade flows with logistics, operations, and certification teams to minimise risks and maximise returns.
- Support Decarbonisation Goals: Help develop blending strategies and compliance roadmaps to support our low-carbon initiatives.
- You have worked in the biofuels or renewables sector and have a good understanding of the key regulations and market dynamics. We don't expect you to know everything-if you bring the right sector exposure, we'll help you grow your skills across the broader role.
- You know how to negotiate and structure complex supply and offtake agreements.
- You're familiar with European legislation on renewable fuels and know how certification systems like ISCC and EU standards help prove sustainability.
- You understand how fuel companies mix renewable fuels into regular fuels to meet government targets, how Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) helps reduce emissions in air travel, and how low-carbon fuel standards encourage cleaner fuel use.
- You're commercially sharp and excel at market analysis, pricing strategies, and risk management.
- You're a confident negotiator and natural relationship builder.
- Do you have experience with economic modelling or pricing formula optimisation? That's a strong advantage.
