Cover Supervisor – Secondary School (Havering)
Are you looking to gain valuable classroom experience in a secondary school setting? Do you have strong communication skills and the confidence to lead a classroom? We are currently recruiting for a Cover Supervisor to work in a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Havering.
The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom in the absence of the teacher, ensuring that students remain on task and engaged with pre-set work. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring teachers, graduates, or individuals with experience working with young people.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervising classes across KS3 and KS4 using pre-prepared lesson materials
* Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
* Ensuring a positive and productive learning environment
* Supporting students with their work where required
* Reporting back to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour
The Ideal Candidate
* Previous experience working with young people (school-based experience desirable but not essential)
* Confident, organised, and able to manage a classroom independently
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Flexible and adaptable approach
* A genuine interest in education
