Who We Are
Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud, which is a platform that enables organizations that depend on physical operations to harness Internet of Things (IoT) data to develop actionable insights and improve their operations. At Samsara, we are helping improve the safety, efficiency and sustainability of the physical operations that power our global economy. Representing more than 40% of global GDP, these industries are the infrastructure of our planet, including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing — and we are excited to help digitally transform their operations at scale. Working at Samsara means you’ll help define the future of physical operations and be on a team that’s shaping an exciting array of product solutions, including Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, and Equipment Monitoring. As part of a recently public company, you’ll have the autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term. About the role: We are looking for a high-potential Product Manager II to take ownership of a critical, high-impact feature set within our fastest-growing business: Video-based Safety . Safety is Samsara’s mission, and this role offers direct exposure to real-time Computer Vision and applied Machine Learning at scale. You will be responsible for defining, building, and launching features that leverage our trillion-scale data footprint to predict and prevent accidents, directly saving lives and driving business value. You will own the execution and iteration for your product area, working directly with Engineering, Design, and Machine Learning teams. This is an opportunity to quickly gain deep experience in a technically challenging domain, translate complex AI outputs into simple customer value, and demonstrate the ability to ship world-class product in a hyper-growth environment. To better understand the scale and mission of this team, we encourage you to review the Samsara Cameras product overview here, and watch our SVP of Safety, Johan Land, discuss our AI-powered safety platform here. You should apply if:- You want to impact the industries that run our world: Your efforts will result in real-world impact—helping to keep the lights on, get food into grocery stores, reduce emissions, and most importantly, ensure workers return home safely.
- You are the architect of your own career: If you put in the work, this role won’t be your last at Samsara. We set up our employees for success and have built a culture that encourages rapid career development, countless opportunities to experiment and master your craft in a hyper growth environment.
- You’re energized by our opportunity: The vision we have to digitize large sectors of the global economy requires your full focus and best efforts to bring forth creative, ambitious ideas for our customers.
- You want to be with the best: At Samsara, we win together, celebrate together and support each other. You will be surrounded by a high-calibre team that will encourage you to do your best.
- Own the feature roadmap and execution for a core component of the Video-based Safety product, driving day-to-day decisions and trade-offs to meet ambitious targets.
- Collaborate directly with Machine Learning Engineers to translate model performance (accuracy, precision, recall) into quantifiable business and customer value.
- Drive the entire product lifecycle from initial concept and customer discovery to launch, measuring success, and post-launch iteration.
- Become the domain expert on your product area, synthesizing customer feedback, quantitative data, and technical constraints into clear, prioritized requirements.
- Demonstrate a bias-to-action, constantly seeking to rapidly iterate, innovate, and simplify complex technical capabilities for our customers.
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles as we scale globally.
- 3+ years of experience in a product management role with a history of successfully launching and iterating on software or hardware/software integrated products.
- Strong technical acumen and an ability to establish credibility with engineers; comfortable discussing system architecture, APIs, and data models.
- Demonstrated experience in a product area relying heavily on data, analytics, or model-driven features (e.g., personalization, recommendation engines, fraud detection, or applied ML/CV).
- Exceptional analytical skills and a knack for gleaning actionable customer insights from quantitative and qualitative data.
- Excellent communication skills, effective in both writing detailed product requirements and presenting updates to internal stakeholders.
- Undergraduate or graduate degree (MS, PhD, or MBA) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Hands-on experience working directly with Computer Vision (CV) or large-scale IoT data processing pipelines in a production environment.
- Experience defining product goals and measuring success using metrics tied to model efficacy and business impact.
- Prior experience in a high-growth SaaS environment managing a product with a significant B2B enterprise customer base.
