The Role

An established RC Frame contractor is seeking a proactive and technically strong Quality Assurance Manager to take a lead role in driving quality standards across a portfolio of high-rise and large-scale civil engineering projects in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of all quality processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards, client requirements, and internal benchmarks. This is a senior-level role suitable for an experienced individual ready to own and manage the QA function across multiple live and upcoming sites.

Responsibilities;

* Lead and manage the QA function across all RC frame and groundwork projects.

* Develop and maintain quality management systems (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 standards.

* Create and implement Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), check sheets, and QA documentation for site teams.

* Liaise with project teams, engineers, and clients to ensure quality objectives are clearly defined and met.

* Conduct regular audits, inspections, and reviews across all sites to monitor compliance and quality performance.

* Drive a right-first-time culture and support the early identification and resolution of non-conformances.

* Deliver QA inductions, training, and support to project engineers, site managers, and subcontractors.

* Work closely with design and engineering teams to ensure buildability and quality risks are addressed early.

* Prepare and submit QA reports and handover documentation to clients and main contractors.

* Represent the company in client meetings and QA reviews.

The Requirements

* Minimum 5+ years’ experience in QA/QC roles within the RC frame, groundworks, or civil engineering sectors.

* Engineering or construction-related qualification (HNC/Degree)

* Strong technical knowledge of reinforced concrete structures, post-tensioned slabs, and formwork systems.

* Familiarity with concrete pouring QA, rebar inspection, and temporary works interface.

* Proven ability to write, manage, and enforce ITPs and QMS documentation.

* Excellent communication, report writing, and leadership skills.

* Experience with Tier 1 contractors or high-profile projects in central London (preferred).

* Proficient in QA software systems, Microsoft Office, and document control platforms (e.g., FieldView, Viewpoint, 4Projects).

* CSCS (Manager/Professional), SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable).

* Full UK driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK.
