We currently seek to appoint a well-qualified and suitably experienced candidate to the role of Individual Learning Coordinator (SENDCo). The post-holder will lead a department of four in a permanent and full-time role commencing 1 April 2027 or 1 September 2027.

Applicants must be qualified to teach pupils with Specific Learning Difficulties and to conduct assessments of pupils’ learning profiles. Previous experience of teaching, of leading a team and of overseeing applications for JCQ-regulated access arrangements would be desirable.

The Individual Learning Coordinator and the team of three experienced ILN teachers will work with individual pupils and with colleagues to ensure that teaching and learning strategies are adapted to the pupils’ needs and that pupils understand themselves as learners and are equipped to overcome barriers to learning. Learning profile assessments are undertaken by all members of the team and the department liaises closely with academic and pastoral staff and with the School’s Counsellors and Medical Team.

The salary will be commensurate with the post and will depend upon qualifications and experience.

All staff working in the School during the school day will have contact with children and will therefore be in regulated activity. As a teaching member of staff you will be working directly with, and be responsible for, the children that you teach. You are also likely to have contact with other pupils on a regular basis which may include specific pastoral or other responsibilities for pupils whom you do not teach.
