Registered Manager – Learning Disabilities Location: East London
Salary: Up to £50,000 DOE
Hours: 40 hours per week
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
The Opportunity We are recruiting an experienced Registered Manager to take overall responsibility for an established CQC-registered learning disability service in East London.
This is an opportunity for an experienced manager who can provide strong operational leadership while maintaining a genuinely person-centred approach to supporting adults with learning disabilities, complex needs and behaviours that challenge.
You will lead the service under the direction of the Operations Manager, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding, staff performance and regulatory compliance are maintained.
- Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and quality of the service
- Ensure compliance with CQC, Health & Social Care Act 2008, Care Act 2014 and relevant legislation
- Lead, support and develop Team Leaders, Deputy Managers and wider staff teams
- Manage recruitment, induction, supervision, training and staff development
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, care planning, record keeping and quality assurance
- Manage staff performance, including disciplinary and grievance procedures where required
- Build positive relationships with people supported, families, staff and external professionals
- Work effectively with commissioners and multi-agency professionals
- Manage delegated budgets and ensure resources are used effectively
- Ensure mandatory training and refresher training requirements are maintained
- Attend reviews, management meetings and other relevant professional meetings
- Support continuous improvement and effectively manage change within the service
- At least 2 years' experience as a Registered Manager
- Current or recent experience managing a learning disability residential service
- Experience managing a service or portfolio of 10+ beds
- A current or recent Good or Outstanding CQC rating
- At least 4 years' significant experience working with adults with learning disabilities and complex needs
- Strong experience supporting people with behaviours that challenge and health-related conditions
- Experience managing residential or supported living services
- Strong staff management and conflict-resolution skills
- Experience working within a multi-agency environment
- Good relationships with commissioners, families and professional networks
- Level 4 Health & Social Care or equivalent as a minimum
- Level 5 Leadership & Management, RMA, nursing qualification or equivalent would be advantageous
